What reviewers say

Verdict

The Arrow Hit Hexagon Cup is a limited edition dress on the Arrow Hit Carbon: same diamond mold, same €270 tier, same core and face recipe, with Hexagon Cup branding on one face and an iridescent finish that shifts under the lights. If you were already shopping the Carbon, this is the same racket in a party outfit, capped at 2,000 units worldwide. If you are shopping for a diamond attack pala that does not beat up your arm, it is worth a longer look.

How it plays

The shape and head heavy balance do what a diamond is supposed to do. Smashes get the finishing weight up top, the víbora sits in the pocket the frame was built for, and a bajada por tres has real bite when you catch it clean. On the bandeja I can drop the ball short without feeling like the racket is dragging me through the swing.

The pleasant surprise is the feel. The Soft Performance EVA core knocks the edge off the impact you usually expect from a carbon diamond at this price. Contact is firm rather than harsh, and the sweet spot reads a touch bigger than a strict pro diamond. Ball output at medium and medium low pace is comfortable, so salidas de pared and slower rallies do not feel wooden. Push into ataque and the frame answers, but you will feel the diamond's ceiling before you feel the core's.

The trade-off

You are paying diamond tax without diamond reward at the top end. The softer core that saves your elbow also caps the explosive rebound a hard EVA diamond gives you when you punch through a smash. Defensively, the head heavy balance and 38mm profile make the racket slower off the pared than a round or teardrop of the same weight; if your game leans on defensa and long chiquita exchanges, you will feel late to a lot of balls.

Best for, avoid if

Best for advanced offensive players who want a diamond finisher but have been priced out or beaten up by harder pro molds. Avoid if you have any elbow or shoulder history that keeps you off head heavy attack frames, if you are still building the swing speed a diamond needs to earn its power, or if control from the fondo is where your game actually lives.
