Defense
Defense is not where this racket wants to live, and I think that is worth stating up front. The head-heavy diamond profile and the concentrated sweet spot mean my defensive lifts and bajadas need to be clean or the ball goes long. That said, the Fibrix hybrid face takes some of the sting out of blocked returns off the back glass, and the salida de pared feels less rigid than a pure carbon diamond. If I am pinned deep, I lean on the globo more than a flat block, because the higher balance actually helps me generate lift with a short swing. Chiquitas from the back require a shorter, more compact motion than I would use with a round shape, but the pala is stable enough on contact that I trust the ball to sit down when I brush up on it. This is a diamond that defends adequately, not one that rescues you.

Volleys & Net Play
This is where the 254 mm balance really pays back. Despite the diamond shape, voleas feel quick in the hand, and I can flick a reflex volea across my body without feeling like I am dragging the head through the shot. The dual-density MultiEVA core gives a lively rebound on the volea de ataque, so I can punch balls into the corners without swinging big. Softer touch volleys and dejadas at the net are more delicate than I expected from a Vertex, again thanks to the Fibrix face damping the initial spike. Where I have to be careful is off-center contact: hit it low on the face and the ball dies, hit it in the throat and you feel it. Clean contact at the net rewards you, sloppy contact does not.

Overheads & Smashes
Overheads are the heart of what this racket does. The bandeja comes off the face with a natural kick that lets me land the ball long and low without forcing it, and the víbora is a genuine weapon because the sandblasted Top Spin surface bites the ball immediately on that slicing brush. Flat smashes through the middle carry solid pace, though I would not call this pala a brute-force finisher: you have to bring racket-head speed to unlock the power. Where it really shines is the smash por tres and the smash x4 down the side glass, because the kick off the surface makes the ball jump unpredictably. Ergonomically the head-heavy balance does most of the work on overheads, which is exactly what I want from a diamond in this category.

Spin and Touch
Spin production is a standout. The Top Spin sandblasted finish grabs the felt immediately, and topspin drives from the baseline dip sharply enough to keep opponents pinned behind the service line. Slice on the bandeja sits low after the bounce, and the víbora produces the sideways skid that pushes rivals into the side glass. Touch shots are better than the spec sheet would suggest: the MultiEVA sandwich lets me feather a dejada off a hard ball without the pala kicking it back, and short chiquitas keep their shape when I brush across them. The one caveat is that spin generation depends on you doing the work. This racket does not pop the ball with heavy rotation on its own, but it faithfully translates whatever brush you give it.

Ergonomics and Technologies
At 350 to 360 g with a 254 mm balance, this is a demanding pala over three sets, and I feel it in my shoulder if my conditioning is off. The Fibrix hybrid face, mixing carbon and fiberglass, is the reason the racket does not hammer my arm the way an equivalent pure-carbon diamond would, and the MultiEVA dual-density core softens the initial impact further. The CustomWeight system is genuinely useful: up to 12 g of upper-frame inserts let me shift balance by about a centimeter in either direction, which turned this from a pure attacking diamond into something closer to a hybrid when I dialed it down. The Vertex Core triangular bridge geometry stiffens the throat without adding weight there.

Overall Verdict
The Vertex 05 Woman 2026 is a specialist tool for a specific player. If you are an advanced attacker with clean technique, decent conditioning and a preference for building points through spin, bandejas and víboras rather than raw finishing, this pala rewards you every session. The sweet spot is concentrated and unforgiving, so beginners and improvers looking for a friendly diamond should look elsewhere. What you get in return is a diamond that moves more like an all-court shape at the net, produces genuine kick on overheads, and lets you tune balance to match how you feel on the day. It is not the easiest pala in the Bullpadel range, but for the player it targets, it is one of the more complete ones.
