The Blade LS V4 is the comfort reading of Wilson's 2026 Blade platform. A 355g teardrop with a fiberglass weave face over a soft ECO EVA core, medium balance around 260mm, and the moulded Spin Effect texture that runs across the range. It is built for the intermediate player still developing technique, or the more experienced player nursing an arm, elbow, or shoulder that will not tolerate the standard V4's firm carbon composite over firm EVA. It is not aimed at attacking finishers, who will run into its power ceiling in a set.

How it plays

From the back of the court, salida de pared and flat drives should feel cushioned rather than explosive. A fiberglass face flexes further on impact than the carbon composite on the standard V4, and the soft ECO EVA holds the ball on the racket a beat longer. The release is easy; the detonation is not there. On bandeja and víbora the low balance and light head keep the swing shape repeatable rally after rally, but a heavy, dipping víbora winner will ask for arm speed the frame does not manufacture for you.

At the red, voleas are the home ground. 355g and a medium balance keep the racket quick on blocks, dejadas, and instinctive reactions, at the cost of putting real weight through a punch volley. Overhead, the Duo Grid's larger upper holes are designed to give a lift to the smash, but the soft core caps peak pace. Expect a placed, controlled remate rather than a flat finisher. In defensa, the Duo Grid plus Sharp Hole geometry should widen the forgiving zone on off-centre contacts, though a fully stretched globo will not carry as deep as it would off a firmer frame.

The trade-off

You are trading peak power and the crisp, connected feedback of a stiffer teardrop for comfort, forgiveness, and a manageable swing. The fiberglass face deflects where the standard V4's composite bites; the soft foam extends the release. Both are good for the arm and for the size of the usable hitting zone. Both cap the ceiling of a flat winner. If your game closes points with heavy víboras and flat smashes, this frame will run out of runway. If your game is built on placement, consistency, and staying in long rallies without your elbow complaining the next morning, that same construction is exactly the point.

Best for, avoid if

Best for the intermediate amateur, roughly 2.5 to 3.5, still building technique and wanting a light, forgiving teardrop with room to grow. Also for the more experienced player of any level with an arm, elbow, or shoulder issue who needs the softest Blade Wilson makes in 2026. Avoid it if you are an advanced or attacking player who generates your own racket-head speed and wants a punishing salida de bola: the standard Blade V4, the Bela V3, or the Defy Pro V1 will serve you better. Also avoid it if you specifically want a head-heavy teardrop feel; the LS's medium balance intentionally moves away from that.
